I highly recommend Russ Wenham for Redding City Council. I’ve known Russ since we were kids. We went to school together from kindergarten through 12th grade, and I’ve seen him earn a reputation as a smart, hardworking, and respected leader. Russ has lived in Shasta County nearly his entire life, and I know without a doubt that he genuinely cares about our community. I worked with Russ when he put in hundreds of volunteer hours managing portions of the construction of Fantasy Fountain and Kid's Kingdom in the Enterprise Community Park. I enjoyed working with Russ and his knowledge and commitment made a huge difference for children, families and the City. I'd stand with with Russ again anytime and I support him for City Council.

I have known Russ for over a decade. He is bright, caring and committed to helping our community. His training as an engineer provides him with a detailed approach to complicated problem solving. Given the current budget challenges our City faces, he will be an asset to our City Council.

For many years we've been impressed by Russ' deep commitment to our community and the people that call it home. We have seen him lead important community projects from vision to completion, inlcuding the new Market Street in downtown Redding. He has taken (and continues to take) the time to understand the challenges facing the Redding Police Department and public safety, including homelessness, parolee impacts, and staffing shortages. His background in both government and private-sector leadership, combined with extensive budget management and years of working alongside law enforcement in a former government position, gives him the experience to help Redding move forward. With thirty years of working with City Council members, I support Russ Wenham because I've seen him: (1) Demonstrate that he has an established identity and self worth that is not dependent on holding public office; (2) He's calm, deliberate, courageous, thoughtful, and compassionate; and (3) He understands the importance of non-partisan city government that prioritizes service to all of Redding. I've known Russ for more than two decades - first as colleagues at the same agency, and later when he moved into consulting. As a consultant, Russ managed project delivery for cities and counties, while I provided quality assurance on behalf of state and federal agencies. Throughout that time, Russ consistently moved projects forward while taking the time to listen, engage in meaningful dialogue, and understand every side of an issue. He approaches complex challenges with professionalism, respect, and a genuine commitment to finding practical solutions. Having developed projects in multiple states, ranging from retail to government facilities, I've learned the value of having the highest skilled civil engineer lead the efforts in each local community. Russ Wenham is one of the most capable and skilled engineers I've had the pleasure of working with. Without Russ’ leadership, developing our premier Churn Creek Marketplace Shopping Center in Redding would have been more costly and time-consuming. The Redding City Council needs the kind of leadership Russ has to offer.

I've known Russ Wenham for over 30 years. Having managed teams and large budgets in both government and private industry, Russ has the practical knowledge of how government finances and responsibilities should be handled and not handled. There are big challenges ahead for the city of Redding: pensions, ballooning salaries, homelessness, neglected infrastructure repair, job creation, and the need for public safety.
