Russ Wenham Advocates for Solutions to Advance Freeway-Oriented Development at Oasis Road

Land at Oasis Road and Twin View Boulevard has sat empty for two decades, ever since it was approved for a Costco that ended up getting built across town instead. A developer now wants a scaled down shopping center there with two hotels, restaurants and a gas station, but the project just got delayed a second time, and Commissioner Russ Wenham is working to facilitate progress.

The current proposal is for a smaller, freeway-oriented development featuring hotels, gas stations, small shops, and other retail businesses designed to serve Interstate 5 travelers. Careful review of development proposals is essential, but there comes a point when studies must give way to action so worthwhile projects can move forward.

Good leadership requires balancing competing priorities, asking the right questions, doing the research, and making informed decisions. That is the approach Russ Wenham brings to every issue.
