Russ Wenham Leads Unanimous Approval of Oasis Road Commercial Project

Russ Wenham at Redding Planning Commission meeting

On August 25, 2026, the Redding Planning Commission unanimously approved the Oasis Road shopping center development, a commercial project spanning more than 99,000 square feet at the corner of Oasis Road and Twin View Boulevard. Russ Wenham, who serves on the Planning Commission, made the motion to approve.

Following the vote, Wenham spoke with News Channel 7 about what comes next for the project. He explained that the approval grants the developer entitlement to move forward with environmental studies, finalize designs, and secure building permits before construction can begin.

Wenham also noted the project's connection to one of Redding's most pressing infrastructure needs: road capacity. The development is expected to bring some of the first investment toward widening a portion of Oasis Road, work that will benefit both the new commercial center and the surrounding neighborhood.

This kind of steady, hands-on decision-making is what Russ brings to public service: reviewing the details, asking the right questions, and moving projects forward that create jobs and strengthen infrastructure for Redding's future.
